Colin Rafferty –

Jaren Jackson Jr. has been traded to the Utah Jazz.

Not only Jaren, but John Konchar, Jock Landale, and Vince Williams Jr. for Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang, and three first-round draft picks.

Those picks are for the Utah Jazz’s most favorable 2027 first-round pick (Cleveland/Minnesota/Utah), the Lakers’ 2027 first-round pick, and Phoenix’s 2031 first-round pick.

This means over the next seven NBA Drafts (through 2032) the Grizzlies will have 13 first-round picks, and possibly more to come.

The rebuild is on, Ja will no doubt be traded soon, keep those Shams notifications going.

Man, this sucks, I really thought he was one of those guys like Marc or Mike, he would be here for a very long time, and we would celebrate him when he does well and they had traded him. Now, it’s just pain and sorrow.

The guy that is a consummate professional, a good human, and seemed like one of us here in the 901, we embraced him, we loved him, and he gave us everything we asked.

He was a big part of the heartbeat of the city.

Memphis truly lost a great one today.

There will be more to come, but for now, I cannot think of what is next.

Yes, it is the draft, but I am going to be honest, I haven’t watched much of college ball this year, so I will do my due diligence and start digging.

They will need a center, at this point we don’t even have one. Edey is on the bench, and they traded away two of our bigger players in Jock and Jaren.

This coach better be worth it, because for good or worse that is who they are building around.

Cedric and Edey are the pieces moving forward, hopefully we see Edey come back and be healthy.

To Triple J, The Block Panther, Mr. Professional Dresser, Thank You.

He will finish his time 8th in career games with the Grizzlies (452), 9th in minutes played (13,021), 6th in made Field Goals (2,976), 7th in Total Rebounds (2,517), and 3rd in Blocks (845).

Utah comes into Memphis in 17 days.
