Elvis Presley Dies at Graceland
August 16, 1977
On August 16, 1977, Memphis lost an icon when Elvis Presley passed away at his Graceland home. The King of Rock ’n’ Roll drew global attention with his unique sound and charisma, making Memphis a touchstone for music lovers.
