Chamber Celebrates Major Job Growth

The Greater Memphis Chamber is making big waves for West Tennessee families and businesses. As of mid-2026, the Chamber has exceeded expectations by helping to add more than 22,000 new jobs as part of its Prosper 2030 initiative. That is nearly halfway toward its ambitious goal of creating 50,000 jobs by the end of the decade.

What Is Prosper 2030?

Prosper 2030 is a bold plan launched by the Chamber to drive economic development, boost long-term job growth, and position Memphis as a thriving regional hub. The initiative is all about connecting talent with opportunity and ensuring that growth benefits all areas of the Memphis community, from the tech corridors to our historic neighborhoods.

Memphis Leads the Way in the Mid-South

This wave of job growth does more than strengthen the local economy – it puts Memphis ahead in the race to attract fresh investment and keeps the Bluff City’s workforce strong. Local officials credit the region’s skilled talent pool, pro-business environment, and collaborative spirit for this early success.

Looking Ahead: The Road to 2030

The momentum is real, but there’s still work to be done. The Chamber is urging businesses and Memphians of all backgrounds to get involved, whether through job fairs, training programs, or spreading the word about opportunities right here at home.
