Big Jim Christmas Tree Farm Memphis

A Memphis Holiday Tradition

For nearly half a century, families across Memphis have made a special stop to find the perfect holiday tree: Big Jim’s Christmas Tree lot. In 2025, Jimmy “Big Jim” Wade marks his 46th year spreading Christmas cheer just steps away from the Oak Court Mall—a site familiar to East Memphis and Midtown neighbors alike. Generations have grown up stopping by his stand, a tradition as classic as the Beale Street lights or the twinkle of star-shaped cookies at Gibson’s Donuts.

All About the Families

Big Jim believes his business is about more than trees—it’s about memories. “It’s all about the families,” he says, and the proof is in the sea of smiling faces that return year after year. Customers come from Bartlett, Whitehaven, and Orange Mound, each with their own stories and traditions, to hunt for the perfect fir or pine. Some remember picking their first tree with their grandparents; now, they bring grandchildren of their own.

Keeping the Spirit Alive

The Memphis spirit is all about community, and Big Jim’s is a festive hub during the holidays. With music, friendly faces, and that unmistakable scent of fresh pine, this tree lot becomes a place for generations to gather. For families new to the city or longtime Memphians looking to rekindle local traditions, a visit to Big Jim’s remains a must.
