Colin Rafferty –

Your Memphis Grizzlies are back in action after the Christmas holiday. The Milwaulkee Bucks come into the 901 after toppling the Pacers 111-94 on Tuesday.

After losing to the Wizards and Thunder the Grizzlies got back to winning on Tuesday against the Utah Jazz 137-128. They showed a lot of grit to stave off the Jazz, who made a run in the 3rd quarter to get back into the game.

Led by Santi Aldama, Santi Claus was out in full force dropping a career-high 37 points and added 7 assists and 5 rebounds.

Cam Spencer didn’t have a great shooting game, but had 13 assists and was a helpful hand while the Grizz are looking to bring back someone to play point guard.

Yesterday the Grizzlies PR released the injury report and it listed Ja Morant as QUESTIONABLE. Good news, finally, maybe he comes back today maybe it is against the 76er’s, either way he is almost back.

Cedric Coward was also listed as QUESTIONABLE, he is dealing with left heel soreness.

All I want for Christmas is for my teams to be healthy, this could be a sign of good things to come.

The Bucks are one of the worst offensive teams, and in terms of defense and point differential they are right where the Grizzlies are, middle of the pack, towards the lower end.

Despite the stats saying the Bucks and Grizzlies are like teams, they haven’t looked great all year and there has been plenty of talk about what Giannis is going to do.

It is a similar situation in some regards, but the Grizzlies have a direction they are going in and the Bucks might be in for some weird days ahead if they move on from Giannis.

They are 4-6 in their last 10 games, wins against the Celtics, Pistons and Nets.

Giannis is listed as OUT as he is dealing with a calf injury, something the Grizzlies know all too well.

Bobby Portis is playing some strong ball right now, but outside of him, they have been relying on Ryan Rollins, Gary Trent Jr. and Kyle Kuzma. Kuzma is a bit of a Grizz-killer in recent memory, putting up a 30 spot on the Grizz in 2022 and averaging around 19 points a contest.

The Grizz will need to be on a defensive rope tonight, it has shown that when they play good defense it turns into good offense. Other than that, limit the amount of turnovers and they should be primed for a good Friday night win.

It is a giveaway game tonight, the Grizzlies will be handing out Grizz themed scarfs for the winter, if it ever gets here.

The first 3,000 fans will get a City Edition Grizz scarf, there is also another 191 Collab that will feature some cool stuff from The Art of Joseph. With every purchase of a Joseph item you will recieve a tote bag and a poster.

The season of giving doesn’t end on Christmas Day, it keeps on rolling into the new year.

It should be a packed house tonight, there’s nothing to do, the weather is uncomfortably warm for this time of year, and the Grizzlies are playing at home.

Dreams of getting back to .500 are getting more intense, the path is narrow but a few more weeks and we could be seeing a completely different team on the court.

I hope so.

Tip-off is at 7 PM CST inside FedEx Forum, be proud, be loud and wear the bear!
