Colin Rafferty –

Your Memphis Grizzlies are back in action tonight as they take on the 17-9 Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Wolves are top ten in total offense, defense, and point differential, a tall task for the Grizzlies, and one that will be a litmus test to see how the team stacks up against better opponents.

The Grizzlies come into the game off a great performance versus the Clippers on Monday. The Timberwolves took down the Kings on Sunday.

News came down yesterday from the Grizzlies that the hottest hand on the team will not be available, as Cam Spencer is dealing with something personal.

His brother Pat, on the Warriors, will not play in his game on Thursday. Memphis, send these boys some prayers, I would only have to assume there was a death in the family.

This is tough for the Grizzlies as he has been a massive focal point of the bench squad.

Other news was that Ja Morant was listed as DOUBTFUL, after twisting his ankle against the Clippers with three minutes left in the game. Brandon Clarke is also listed as QUESTIONABLE.

B.C. isn’t the Big Zamboni, but he does provide a great spark to the guys around him. When he is on the floor Ja and Jaren usually play much better, he is always around the rim and has an innate ability to know where to be for both of those guys to find him.

Just when things look to be getting to a good point, the Grizzlies voodoo doll is hit again.

Whoever you are, I will find you. This must stop.

The Grizzlies will have help though, the Wolves are without Mike Conley, who is dealing with ‘right Achilles tendinopathy’ something Grizz fans know all about. Anthony Edwards is considered Day-to-Day with a foot injury.

Hold him out for this game, you don’t want him messing up his foot any more than it is.

Plus, what would a loss do to the Wolves? Nothing, it would just give the Suns one less game to catch up to them. The Wolves are securely in the 6th spot right now, with a 3-game lead.

Just give the Grizz this win and move on.

This game was never going to be easy, with all the injuries they have occurred, but it can be one to win, so why not.

Short-handed, trying to keep pace in the play-in tournament, and get to one game closer to .500, your Grizzlies will have a tall task.

Vince, Jaylen, Santi, and Ced come to play because they will need you. Jaren, keep up the great play from Monday and Jock, get boards, boards, boards.

There is a narrow path to victory, one that I can see, but that will mean the Grizzlies do what they did against the Clippers, make their bigs a non-factor and hit shots.

Take out Julius Randle and Naz Reid, the Grizz have a chance.

We are halfway through December, do the things to get yourself in a position to be a team nobody wants to play as the new year starts.

Tip-off is at 7 PM CST, wear the bear with pride today and cheer on your hometown team to a win.

Be sure to vote for your favorite Grizzlies players to be feautred in this years All Star Game, voting started today!
