Colin Rafferty –

Well as the thought and hope that the Grizzlies were about to go on a run, getting Ja Morant back possibly tonight, news came down that Zach Edey is going to be out for at least a month.

Whoever has the voodoo doll, stop it, we have had enough.

Investigate the Forum blueprints, call in the National Guard… no, wait; do something because this can’t keep happening.

Despite the bad news, the Grizzlies get back in action tonight as they host the Utah Jazz.

As I mentioned before, Ja Morant is listed as QUESTIONABLE for tonight, but most of the city believes that he will be playing. He had given out 250 pairs of tickets to Memphians on Tuesday, to celebrate 12/12 day.

The signs are there, Grizzlies getting 12 back, going for their 12th win, on 12/12, against the 12th team in the West. Ja to have at least 12 points would be fitting.

Utah comes into this game 13th in team offense, 29th in defense, and 27th in point differential.

If the Big Zamboni was out there, the Grizzlies would be a shoo-in for a win.

Utah has gone 3-7 in their last 10 games, scoring around 115 points per game. The Grizzlies should use their shooting and speed to get out to a lead early.

It is a good day though, Ja will be back, it is a Friday night and the Jazz aren’t good, this is a recipe for a good time inside FedEx Forum.

The emergence of Cedric Coward, combined with Santi Aldama and Cam Spencer playing well has been fun to watch, without a point guard.

Lets see how it looks with a true NBA point guard.

There was some good news that came out today. Brandon Clarke, who is coming off a knee injury, will practice with the Hustle today.

Ramping up at the right time, we need everyone we can get.

Other injury news from yesterday, John Konchar is OUT as he suffered a thumb injury against the Trail Blazers.

It seems dismal but they do get Ja back, he makes things fun even if they are struggling to stay healthy. His energy on the bench has been something that makes me believe he will come out firing on all cylinders.

The Grizz will lean on Jock Landale to pick up where Edey left off and grab some boards, keep some offensive sets alive, and be efficient around the rim.

He doesn’t have to do much, just don’t mess up good opportunities, Ja will create them.

Maybe having Ja back on the court will help clear up some of the poor performances Jaren Jackson Jr. has rolled out recently. It is hard for me to image that he will continue to play this bad, but for the moment it is tough.

Fingers crossed, Ja will help that.

The Forum will be loud and rocking tonight, if you don’t have your ticket already go get one now.

Tip-off is at 7 PM CST, inside FedEx Forum, it is unreasonably great weather today go cheer on the Grizz.
