Your Memphis Grizzlies will play a game today inside FedEx Forum against the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets come into today’s game on a 6-game road winning streak but will be without several star players. Sweet! A game that the Grizzlies might not have the most injured players.

Nikola Jokić, Christian Braun, Aaron Gordon, and Cameron Johnson are all OUT.

Jamal Murray, Jonas Valančiūnas, and Peyton Watson are listed as QUESTIONABLE.

This is good news, well better than having all of them available.

For the Grizz, Santi Aldama is still listed as OUT as well as the usual cast of characters.

The last time the Grizzlies played the Nuggets was on November 24th in Memphis, a 125-115 win for the Nuggets as Murray and Peyton Watson lit up the fourth quarter.

Jokic also had some incredible plays throughout the game, capped off with an impossible behind the back bounce pass for an easy bucket as time was expiring.

Throughout the game the Grizz were battling to stay within 7-8 points but never could break that seal. They were led by Jock Landale’s great performance of 26 pts and 10 rebounds. Jaylen Wells added 22 pts.

With a whole litany of players out, the Grizzlies will have at least a chance to stay in this game. How they do that will be a mystery, they have been perplexing to say the least in late game situations.

They will need a herculean effort out of the starters and bench; the Nuggets are third in the West with a 31-15 record.

They are one of the top scoring teams and are top 10 in point differential, but the Nuggets team defense is middling around where the Grizzlies are (116.2 pts per game).

The defense will need to stay on a rope and be active on the three-point line, I’ve said it a thousand times before.

When they play good defense, they usually turn it into good offense, the problem is they haven’t had good defense in quite some time.

Control the turnovers and limit the number of attempts they get around the rim, be aggresive rebounding on both ends, and see where that can take you. Things that teams do to win, ya know.

Snow signifies a new beginning, what that means for this team I am not sure; maybe that means trading away players, maybe that means a new coach, or maybe, just maybe, it will lead to a change in play, I hope so but won’t count on it.

Unfortunately, the Grizzlies have showed their hand this year and it looks like the tank is on.

While the city tries to awaken itself from the winter storm that blew through most of America this weekend, the Grizzlies will look to snag a win before hitting the road.

Today’s game is ‘Kid’s Day presented by Memphis Zoo’ you can purchase a $35 ticket that includes a $10 food voucher, access to the court post-game for a free throw, in addition to a meet and greet with Grizz.

Kid friendly entertainment will be available throughout the Forum and game, what a great way to spend the day away from the cold, if you can get down there.

It is important to note that if you get out to go cheer on the Grizz, take your time, don’t be in a rush, and be careful while navigating the roads out there.

Tip-off is at 2:30 PM CST.
