Colin Rafferty –
Your Memphis Grizzlies are in San Antonio to take on the Spurs tonight, for a nationally televised game.
News came down yesterday that Ja Morant will be reevaluted in two weeks, after suffering a right-calf strain in the game against the Cav’s on Saturday.
Great, grand, wonderful. Yet again the injury demon has come because we had brought back one guy.
Did the Grizzlies build the Forum on a Native American burial ground? Are the medical staffers from the Grizzlies straight out of the ACME Corporation in Looney Tunes?
I feel like Sideshow Bob cheering for the Grizzlies; takes one step *BOOM* rake to the face, takes another step *BOOM* rake to the face.

Despite the bad news, yet again the Grizzlies will need to dig deep and find some consistency from the guys that will replace Ja.
They are in luck, as Victor Wembanyama is OUT with a left-calf strain.
Not great for the Spurs as he is the straw that stirs the drink. He has been playing well as of late and I hate to see him go down, but I am glad he won’t be on the floor since Ja will be out as well.
This gives the Grizzlies a whole new opportunity to grab a win against a divisional foe.
NBC executives are punching the air right now, no Ja and no Wemby. Cue up the Roundball Rock.

The Spurs come into the game top 15 in points per game, as well as top 5 in points allowed and point differential.
I would have to assume that has a direct link to Wemby, similar to Edey, his size and defensive prowess makes guys hesitate or change their mind.
This will be an interesting game as the Grizzlies point guard depth is nonexistent. Ja Morant, Scottie Pippen Jr, Javon Small, and Ty Jerome are all OUT.
Vince Williams Jr, Cam Spencer, and recent addition Jahmai Mashack will have a heavy load tonight; hopefully guys like Jaren, Edey, Santi and Jaylen can help lighten the load.
For the Spurs, guys like De’Aaron Fox and Harrison Barnes will present problems for the Grizz, they shoot well from outside and can create off the dribble.
If the Grizz have any hope tonight, they will need to keep those guys in check.
Additionally, don’t let Devin Vasell get going, the Spurs are guard heavy and with their big man out they will undoubtably play a big role.
The Grizzlies wrap up their 4-game road trip tonight and will be back in action at the Forum on Thursday, as they will take on the Sacramento Kings.
Tip-off tonight is at 7 PM CST and can be found on NBC or you can stream it on Peacock.
