Colin Rafferty –

Your Memphis Grizzlies fall to the New Yorks Knicks 120-133.

Another good start that would only last until about 2 minutes left in the 1st quarter. The Knicks would take a 19-0 run through the second and never looked back.

The Grizzlies were beat physically, on offense and defense. They couldn’t buy a shot for what seemed like forever. It was all looking towards a big blow out.

As the second half got under way, the Knicks got out to a 28-point lead. The Grizzlies were shooting poor and the good ball movement in the 1st quarter had dried up.

Despite all of that, the Grizz still fought their way back into the game with about 6 minutes left. The lead was 10, it seemed if they could break that double-digit lead, they might have a shot.

That was soon followed up by two terrible turnovers after getting some stops on the other end of the floor, the Knicks took advantage and the Grizz were all but out of ideas.

Ja Morant’s struggles from the field continue, but the bench and guys like Cedric Coward, Santi Aldama, Vince Williams Jr. and Cam Spencer helped the Grizz get back into the game.

Morant finished the night with 16 points, 10 assists, and 3 rebounds. Not exactly great shooting, but at least he’s getting the others involved.

The Grizz have to take better care of the ball, 33 points on 22 turnovers will never get you a win in the NBA.

The boys off Beale are playing the second game of a back-to-back in Boston tonight. The Celtics sit at 5-7 currently 11th in the East (same as the Grizz in the West).

Last night the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Celtics 102-100. With both teams struggling and both coming off a loss the Grizzlies should have an opportunity to steal one in Boston.

This Celtics team is sound defensively but has struggled to put the ball in the hoop as much as the Grizzlies.

I believe that will mean that Boston will have a career shooting night, because well, the Grizzlies give those up like Oprah hands out cars. You get a career night; you get a career night.

*sigh*

There has been fight in this team the last two games, but the deficiency of true NBA talent has held this team back.

In the spirit of yesterday’s national holiday (Veteran’s Day), it is time to dig deep and hold the line.

Things aren’t great right now, but with a little luck and hope they can slowly crawl their way out of this foxhole they have built that is now taking in water.

I will continue to believe in the Grizz and to those who don’t or can’t, I have one response; Just as the acting commander Brigadier General Anthony McAuliffe of the 101st Airbone responded to the German demands of unconditional surrender during the Battle of the Bulge… NUTS!

Maybe I’m the one who is nuts, who knows.

Tip-Off is at 6:30 PM CST in Boston.
