Hoops, Hope and Heart in the Bluff City
On September 13, 2025, Memphis Sports & Events Center was buzzing with excitement. Why? Memphis Grizzlies’ forward and NBA All-Star Jaren Jackson Jr. took time out to host a youth basketball camp, bringing his talent, enthusiasm and leadership to the next generation of Memphis athletes. The court, deep in the heart of Liberty Park, filled up with future ballers from neighborhoods all across the 901, eager to sharpen their skills and maybe pick up a few of Jaren’s signature moves.
Building Community Through Sports
Jackson Jr. isn’t just about blocks and dunks—he’s committed to Memphis on and off the hardwood. Events like this youth camp help young Memphians dream big, stay connected and build healthy habits. The Memphis Sports & Events Center, located near the iconic Liberty Bowl Stadium, has become a hub for these kinds of empowering experiences. From Cooper-Young to Whitehaven, families came together for a day that celebrated what Memphis does best: lift each other up.
